October 18, 2013 The Heritage Rhode Island Red Thread seemed to be slowing down a little so I posted some pictures of my reds that I received from Matt1616. I posted these pictures at approximately 12:05 PM. Bob copied one of the pictures and posted it with the comment below at approximately 2:10 PM. I commented back on Bob's post at approximately 3:10 PM.
Got a call from Steven Gribble approx., 5:15 PM 10/18/2013 telling me that Bob had passed. Oh my, what a shock. I am so glad that I have this comment that he made on one of my red’s. The last post that Bob ever made on BYC. Later Matt had sent me a PM telling me that he got the call from Zora, Bob's wife, at 2:52 PM saying that Bob had passed. This was literally minutes after Bob posted this post to Matt and I.

This is the same bird as above. Photo taken 5/24/2014 I can't say what Bob would say about him but I am pleased with the way he turned out even if he isn't perfect. I think he is decent enough to start with. I love his personality. I call him BOB.
6/13/2014 I've had these birds together since I received them from Matt. On 6/7, These boys decided to get into one real fight. They fought for almost 2 hours. Needless to say, I only have one now and Bob was the winner and the only Cock Bird I have now with my 4 girls. This is the bird I picked as my favorite from the very beginning and am so glad that I have young growing from the others also. At least I will have enough to go on with for years to come. Made me feel bad to see them almost kill each other but there was nothing I could do.

Lots has happened with me in the past months. Sep 17, 2016 my home burned. Lost everything but thank God we made it out of the fire. I am in my new house now and all is going as well as can be expected. I had to get rid of all my chickens but just last night 8/12, I won an auction on the RBA for some Greenfire Farms Blue Birchen Marans which I am very glad to have won. This is all I will be working with for the time being.
Hey Folks, excellent site for shipping boxes. http://bellefarm.org/Shipping_Crates/shipping_crates.html
"Notice"
I do not sell hatching eggs or chicks/chickens anymore. Sorry but it is just to much for me to take care of.

I welcome you all to my site. Hope you enjoy your visit.
Well folks, just a little about myself and my chicken domain. I am 65 years old (Oct 1948) and have been around chickens most of my life. I do not and am not planning on showing poultry but I do want good birds just the same as the folks that show them. To get good, we must start with good breeding stock. As you look through my pages you will see that most of my birds come from well known breeders and blood lines. I am working with quite a few lines right now to see which are the best for me. I not only want a good looking bird but also a good meat bird that produces enough eggs to supply a family for eating. No use having a line of hens that look good and still have to go to the store or neighbor to buy eggs.
I'm really not in this to become a breeder/seller of eggs or chicks. My goal is to try to improve on what I have or produce. If anyone contacts me and I feel I can help you out, I will but this is not my goal until I get set up with what I'm wanting. I am wanting to get some of the best of the best to use as my breeding stock before I start selling to the public.
I have talked with some of the top breeders ( just my opinion ) of the different lines that I have. If for any reason something doesn't suit my fancy of a certain line then that line will go down the road or in my freezer. I will not mess with these birds that are not producing what I am looking for.
I am not a hatchery I just do this for myself. I do it to preserve a good breed and for the enjoyment of seeing what my progress has been.
